Real songs for real people. That might be the best way to describe the music of Jeff Przech. His songs have always relied on narrative writing and warm, soulful, emotive vocals that make listeners feel as if they’re having a personal conversation with him. “I’ve long believed that a good song tells a good story,” Przech says. “I just want to write and sing good, honest songs that resonate with people.” 

With a deep, resonant baritone that elicits frequent comparisons to artists like Chris Stapleton, Gregg Allman, and Waylon Jennings, Jeff Przech (pronounced “Presh”) is an artist and songwriter originally from Hartford, Connecticut. Like the Americana label itself, he draws inspiration from and is influenced by music from a myriad of genres: Classic Country, Classic Rock, Folk, and even heavier melodic Rock. (“You should see my Spotify playlists,” he says with a laugh, “eclectic would be an understatement.”) Since leaving a career as an English teacher in 2020, Przech has been a full-time working musician, playing close to 150 shows a year in his native Connecticut and New England, across the U.S., and up to Canada. 

Now working on his fourth record, Przech continues to do what he’s always done: chase the sounds he hears in his head. “Even though I’m not a fan of labels and genres when it comes to music, I understand why they exist,” he says. “I’ve heard or read my music called Americana, Country, Alt-Country, Roots Rock, on and on. If I write a song and it sounds like a country song, great. If it sounds like a rock song, great. The songs tell me what they’re going to be, what they want to be, not the other way around. In a lot of ways, I’m just a conduit. A vehicle.” 

Przech’s songwriting has been recognized both regionally and nationally. In 2024, "Helena" received an Honorable Mention in the Planet Bluegrass Telluride Songwriter Showcase. In 2023, “Maribelle,” from the Outfit record, was chosen for the Essential Western New England Songbook, which the curators call a “listenable juried anthology of 200 of the best songs ever written by artists who’ve lived in Western New England and whose careers have a significant connection to the area. A virtual “Hall of Fame” of original songs. In addition, he is signed to a licensing deal with highly regarded sync agency Atrium Music. His song “Eden,” from the Sounds Like Fresh record, was featured in the ABC drama Big Sky and "Helena" in CW's The Wranglers.

Przech has played somewhere in the neighborhood of 2000 shows in his career and has shared stages with such diverse artists as Shawn Mullins, Jason Eady, Clay Cook (Zac Brown Band), Poco, Lee Brice, Easton Corbin, and Pat McGee.
